My wife and I stopped here on our way to Illinois for vacation. We were from out of town, but the staff made us feel like regulars. The food was fantastic, and the price was fair. We will defiantly stop in again if we find ourselves in Cloverdale.

Small greasy spoon diner with very friendly staff. My omelette had a very generous amount of sausage and all the food I saw leave the kitchen looked good too.

Good comfort food and fantastic coconut cream pie! My favorite is the country fried pork. Huge portion, delicious, real mashed potatoes and gravy. Yeast rolls are great too. My only complaint is that the place is noisy. Almost always busy, so you know the food is good or people wouldn’t come back. On one occasion we had to fight gnats. That very nearly turned me off of the restaurant altogether. The next time we went, no issues with gnats. I wish they served breakfast all day because their menu is limited. My husband got funky fish last time we went. He said he won’t order fish again. Manhattans are very good.

Don't let the outside fool ya, this is some of the best Hoosier Hometown food in the region. The staff is friendly, the service is fast and the food was fantastic! Stop in and enjoy this quaint diner with an eclectic feel!

Does happiness come in the form of food? Yes, yes it does. Don't be fooled by the outside because it may not look as nice as some overpriced food chain. This place has amazing food, great staff, and has low prices you can't beat for the quality of food your getting. I definitely will be back and recommend this place to everyone.

Great food and good customer service!! The outside looks rough due to expansion, but inside is a quaint and cozy diner. The staff is very friendly. Susie did a great job! The half grilled chicken salad was the perfect amount and good to the last bite.Recommended the breaded tenderloin to a buddy. He said it was really good! He was impressed and is looking forward to a return visit.

Ruben was amazing! Owner, & servers were VERY friendly! My 4 yr old granddaughter loved being there, being able to sing "Happy Birthday" to Server Susie, & truly enjoyed the pieces of cake! We will definitely be back!

Would give 6 stars if I could! The menu is standard diner, but the taste is well above average and the price very reasonable. That makes for outstanding value. Seemed to be mainly locals, which makes sense given the setback from the main road. Doesn't look much from outside, but don't let that deter you!

Been many many times. From the old location to the new location to the renovation 😁 Food always good, wait staff friendly. Good small town diner. Usually busy but busy is good! Right off I70. Stop by! Recommend: Tenderloin, Fried Mushrooms, Fried Pickles and Battered Onion Rings...oh and PIE! (Although I never have any because I'm too stuffed. I hear it's good 😊👍)

We found this place doing a Google search. And we are very glad we did. This is a local diner in Cloverdale, Indiana. The wait staff was friendly and the local patrons were very friendly and provided us with some great recommendations for menu options. My husband got the grilled tenderloin, my daughter got the chicken fried steak, and I got the fish platter, which was Swai. We also got the breaded mushrooms. All were very good and the portion sizes were huge. We definitely could have shared something. The waitress waa very friendly and made us feel like family. I wish we would have saved room for their homemade pies. We are so glad we found this place. I am sure they would be great with families as well. I would encourage anyone to try this place out. Thank you to.the team at Lous for being a part of our long road trip!!

We decided to stop here for dinner. This place was amazing. Its everything you expect a diner to be. Staff is friendly and the portions are huge! The tenderloin and onion rings did not disappoint.

Stayed in Cloverdale over night. Ate breakfast at Lou's diner. Great place to eat with a hometown country meal. I had a plate sized cinnamon roll.

Inform employees what is out of stock so they are not taking orders over the phone for something they do not even have. I get there to pick up my food then they inform me they’re out. 🙄

We stopped here on our way to Illinois and boy were we glad we did. I was so impressed with the food and service. The staff were friendly and kind, plenty of food, we could have ordered one meal for both of us. If we ever go to Illinois this direction again we will definitely stop here.

Good food, but HUGE portions!! Great and friendly service.

I am a regular at Lou's..going 4-5 a week! While they did to go orders due to lock down, doing my part to help keep them going. Also, tipping $5.00 plus each and every time. Yesterday, I went like every Friday for their Salmon Pattie Special. I always order with 1 side and a cup of coffee. Upon giving my order, I waited, and waited for my coffee. But apparently my waitress didn't think this was important. I had to finally ask another waitress for my coffee. When she brought my meal, she said I don't know why they put 2 sides. When I got the bill, it wasn't the cook. She put it on the ticket and charged me for it. I made her take it off..she wasn't happy about it..never got a refill on my coffe either. Seriously considering not going back. And yes I tipped even with the bad service!!

Not too fancy on the outside but I must admit the food stands up to its high rating ! Portions were excellent and the food quality was above average for sure. Fresh salad crisp and delicious. Steak was better than outback steakhouse ..I would surely come back!

Small little diner off the highway. I would highly recommend it. The menu is very affordable and has a real selection of good midwestern choices. Staff was very friendly and food was outstanding.

Perfect little mom & pop gem in the heartland. Excellent food, service and prices. Sarah waited on us, the service ranked in the top 5 best I ever seen. This place is a must try!
